Desert Thunder "A Children's Charity" is a non-profit 501c3 corporation, whose mission is to raise funds and in turn donates that money to selected service organizations that provide children with health care, social and educational opportunities that they may not otherwise receive.

Desert Thunder "A Children's Charity" unique among fund raising organizations is the commitment from the beginning to give ALL MONEY raised (less actual costs) directly to selected children’s services. There are no paid employees and no commissions are paid to any member of our organization – all of the time and effort that goes in to putting this event on is strictly voluntary.

The purpose of the Joshua Tree Kids Club and Boys and Girls Clubs of Yucca Valley and Twentynine Palms is to enhance the quality of life for young people ages seven through seventeen. The Clubs offer activities and programs employing a set of youth development principals aimed at satisfying the physical, emotional, cultural, and social needs of their members.

The Joshua Tree Kids Club and Boys and Girls Clubs of Yucca Valley and Twentynine Palms provide an affordable, safe, positive learning environment for youth. Kids have a "place of their own" to develop living, social and recreational skills with no division made for sex, race, social standing, age, income or intelligence.
